My Black Friday shopping adventures

Everyone has seen the picture Black Friday shoppers waited in line in the cold to snag cheap when opened in the early morning. But if you are like me you've never been tempted to venture alone to before marching in the wee hours.

This year is different for me. For one thing the local Targets promised to open at midnight instead at 5 am, I have been assured by enthusiastic users of the Amazon Kindle electronic reader that's something I need to get and will enjoy using. Third, local Targets have a Kindle on Black Friday sale for a price that is significantly lower than that charged by Amazon itself.

I figured I would drive to the Target in the middle of the night, buy a Kindle, and became home to sleep not much past my bedtime. I arrived just before midnight and observed that while the parking lot was packed, there is no one in a line at my door is usually used. Maybe they all queue for their cars? I parked where I can see the door, and saw some group of people approaching the entrance and then walk away. Hmm. …

So I get out of the car and walked to the door where the signs announcing that went into the Black Friday sales will be only through another door. I see another door and see the people who gather there. I decided to walk over and look at how long the line. There is a police state and the security of people of all kinds, and barricades to keep people in line. The line stretched around the corner store. I wonder how long the line is around the corner, so I kept going.

The line snake around the edge of a shopping center for as far as the eye can see! Now I'm curious to see how long the line completely, so I walked through the parking lot looking for end of the line. Finally I found it, about the extent of the entrance to the target as you could and still be in the same shopping mall.
